Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 teaspoon pimenton or smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a saucepan and bring to boil, then lower heat to a a simmer.
  2. Cook for 10 mins, until sauce thickens.
  3. Allow to cool and place in a sterilized container. BBQ sauce will keep for 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
